Student
leadership
At Avanti Grange, we empower students to become dynamic leaders and Compassionate Changemakers within our school community.
Our student leadership opportunities currently include two key Prefect roles: Junior Prefect and Junior House Prefect. These roles sit within our Lower School Leadership. Prefects take on significant responsibilities, with each Prefect sitting on one of six Changemaker Committees, in order to drive positive school-wide initiatives.
Our Changemaker Committees include:
-
Achievement and Rewards Committee
-
Ambition and Academic Committee
-
Community and Diversity Committee
-
Endeavour and Co-curricular Committee
-
Respect and Anti-Bullying committee
-
Spiritual Insight Committee
Junior Prefects and Junior House Prefects play a crucial role in representing student voice and embodying our Core Beliefs and Virtues. Changemaker Committees meet regularly in order to drive positive and meaningful change throughout the school, and its community.
These leadership positions are elected at the beginning of each academic year, by their peers. Through these leadership roles, students learn the importance of service, collaboration and responsible leadership.
Achievement and Rewards Committee
Learning extends far beyond the traditional classroom boundaries. We offer a rich array of co-curricular activities and programs designed to enhance students' educational experience and develop their varied interests and talents. From sports teams and music to art clubs and technology, the opportunities are tailored to foster skills such as teamwork, leadership, and creativity.
Ambition and Academic Committee
Our curriculum immerses students in the powerful knowledge and intellectual conversations of a broad range of subject disciplines, equipping them to make sense of the world around them and to excel in a range of fields. By nurturing students’ sense of identity and perspective, purpose and connection, it creates capacity for informed and conscientious collaboration now and in the future.
Community and Diversity Committee
Avanti Grange emphasises the importance of mental and physical well-being. Regular yoga and meditation sessions are incorporated into our timetable, helping students cultivate mindfulness and physical fitness as foundational aspects of their lives.
