At Avanti Grange we create Community Outreach opportunities across the school. The depth and breadth that goes into creating these experiences engage students, staff, and communities outside of the traditional classroom setting. Our Community Outreach initiatives focus on inspiring students, enhancing their knowledge, and encouraging further academic and personal growth.
At Avanti Grange the abundance of initiatives for students, staff and parents ensure everyone can get involved in community outreach opportunities. We believe, strengthening and nourishing connections with people and nature, engenders a deeper positive attitude to life and self-discovery.
Avanti Grange Community Outreach Initiatives:
Spiritual and Wellness Initiatives
Discussion groups that promote self-care, and coping strategies, especially relevant in secondary schools. Wellness and Yoga Groups for students and staff and parents, focusing on raising consciousness, buffering materialism, personal growth and fitness.
Culture and Arts Outreach Initiatives
Art Exhibition and Performance visits enrich innovation and allow for first hand learning experiences. These outreach initiatives include with local artists and authors visits and Art community workshop talks.
Environmental Initiatives
Outdoor education in natural settings help to teach conservation efforts, and simply help us to stay interconnected to the natural world. Our most recent initiatives include community clean-up litter heroes, tree planting, sustainability education and nature walks.
Volunteer Opportunities
Charity work in the community combines academic learning with community service, helping students understand how their education can make a difference in society. We do this by helping local charities, supporting the elderly, organising food drives.
Educational Outreach
Collaboration between Secondary and Primary students expand our school community. Guest Speakers and Industry Visits: Professionals from various communities visit our school to share their careers, innovations, and insights.
Staff organise trips to career and further educational settings and events to experience a wider professional community, this elevates educational and career aspirations.
The Avanti Service club has been set up to provide students with regular opportunities to create and deliver a variety of community outreach initiatives.
Students within the Avanti Service club drive their own initiatives for community outreach opportunities and collectively they are growing stronger roots of social responsibility in school and in the local community.
Avanti Grange aim to make long lasting positive connections within the wider community and work collaboratively with others to carry out acts of empathetic service and care for the greater good of everyone.
